Brazil– March 2008
Field Study Tour to Sao Paulo
     The field study tour to Sao Paulo (Brazil) from March 8 - 15 was undertaken as part of the Emerging Markets Initiative Grant. The key objectives were to develop an understanding of the dynamic business environment in Brazil, and gain insights into the distinctive nature of the business opportunities and challenges in this emerging market. India– January 2007
Field Study Tour to Bangalore and Mumbai
      The field study tour is designed to develop an understanding of the business environment in India and gain insights into the distinctive nature of the business opportunities and challenges in this market. Students will also gain an appreciation of the strategic and operating issues that managers encounter when operating small businesses in this emerging market.   In May 2006, Facult and staff toured area businesses in Istanbul,

  Turkey to gain a better understanding of the international

  economy. The group visited some places such as St. Sofia, Blue

  Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Historical Kofte Restaurant, TAYSAD,

  NTV Turkish TV Station, Cevahir Shopping Mall, among others.

  In March 2006, Faculty and students visited Prague and

  Budapest, the Czech Republic field study tour.  What 

  better way could you spend your week on spring break?

  This group visited places such as Dreher Brewery, Stock 

  Exchange in Prague and GE Hungary, Compaq, Graphisoft,

  the Curve of the Danube, Budapest Opera, Cornivus

  University of Budapest, among others.

In January 2006, Dr. Toncar and Atty. Zielke led another  study tour to London, England. The group visited and learned about numerous London businesses such as: British Petroleum, Orrick, The London Metal Exchange, Harrod's, CDC Software, Lloyds of London, among others. The group also toured the historic and financial districts in London as well as the Tower of London, Oxford University, and numerous museums.

In March 2005, YSU graduate and undergraduate students traveled over the spring break for the second annual Italy Business Study Tour visiting 12 businesses in Florence and Milan and attended an International Rotary Meeting in Milan.

MBA and EMBA students also traveled to Sao Paulo and Fozde Iguacu in March 2005. Students participated in an in-depth case study of small and large businesses in Brazil.
